We have 7.2, W2003SP1, HP Ultrium SCSI-2 Autoloader, LTO Ultrium-2 installed. I have the problem that all backup tapes (LTO2) only store ca. 120-140 GB. But they can store betwen 200 and 400GB. The CDI is on SCSI-commands. Legato told me with 7.2 the problem are solved, but did not.
Can someone help me?

Here are some things to check (which you might have already):
- update your tape drive and HBA drivers
- validate that the tapes are good, my have a batch of bad tapes, this can be done through scanner (4 hours per tape, so only do a couple)
- w2k3 needs a reg heck to turn off TRU (test unit ready). This will flood the SCSI chained if not turned off

Hope this helps
