Hey all-
I'm a bit of a n00b on cisco configs. I've been through a CCNA boot camp (a while ago), and have spent time entering commands and working with the IOS envir. I am trying to configure a 6509 with a Supervisor 2 module, 2x 48 Port GigE Modules, 2x PIX Firewall Modules and 1x 6 Port GBIC Gig Module.
Right now I'm mostly concerned with three things:
1) How do I setup the two interfaces on the supervisor module to be primary and secondary failover connections to another switch?
2) I've associated ports with different VLANs, how do I setup gateways for those VLANS so that they can bridge across the network. Basically I have a private and public VLAN, then the default which will be the frontend, I want the private to be able surf the internet.
3) Where do Setup the Firewall Failver for the PIX cards?
I know they are kind of huge questions... I'm in a bit of a time crunch and we're currently looking for an outside consultant to come in and help configure (basically configure and walk me through some things). In the meantime I was hoping to get some information on at least getting rolling on those tasks.
Thanks a bunch,
--Andy
