649 pwr supplies vs 631 pwr supply

My dealer says I need to replace the 631 A&B carrier power supplies with the 649 if I want to upgrade to the 8720.
Anyone run into this?

Yes, if you look at a new carrier label stip, it says 'Do not use 631AR 631WA 631BR and 631WB'.

These carriers are not new, they are the ones from our G3si V9..I want to use the existing power units, 631 A&B

I'm not sure about that but, the control carrier will have to be new. It would be an EPN as opposed to the PPN carrier that's already there now. The new EPN carrier can't have the old 631 power supplies.
