Hi everyone,

I recently installed version 3.13 of the nForce chip set drivers (mainboard is ASUS A7N8X Deluxe). Ever since the video resolution of my ATI Radeon 9700 is reset to 640x480 whenever I start up Win XP.

Does anyone know what I can do about this?

Thanks,
Tobi

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the ATI Catalyst drivers for the video card, also it's worth checking that the PC isn't just using the generic drivers in the OS and detecting the card as a standard VGA adaptor or similar.
A reinstall of the VGA drivers should sort the problem tho

Have you tried reinstalling the driver or an updated one or even rolling back the driver?

Thanks for the quick response!

Actually I did install the latest ATI drivers. I even did a clean uninstall of the old 3.9 Catalyst drivers before that. The funny thing is, after uninstalling the ATI drivers the system comes up using VGA and 1024x786. Then I install the Catalyst drivers (3.10) and now I am getting 640x480 on every reboot. Except this everything looks fine, the video card is identified correctly, monitor settings are ok too.

How can that be?
Tobi
