So far fourteen servers upgraded. Each server takes around 60 to 90 minutes to upgrade. Servers that are NW6.0 SP2 and higher seems quicker on the upgrades. I am choosing to install the current Apache, Tomcat 5, and SNMP with this upgrade.
Quirks found so far:
1. On one server the upgrade went to the end and displayed the message that the install was closing, but nothing happened. I decided I would exercise patients and moved on to another server that completed with out issues. Went back to the server with the message to find the message was still there (35 minutes). Toggled through the screens to find a PERL install screen that said "Press enter to continue". Pressed enter and the upgrade closed and rebooted the server as it should. A different server did this, but did not re-boot. I re-booted the server, which did not appear to affect it, and it completed with out any ill side effects.
2. On about half of the servers I had to run PKIDIAG and update the Certs. Not a problem, but I would suggest doing it before the upgrade anyway.
3. If upgrading a virtual server on VMWare, set aside a copy of the LSI drivers. After the first re-boot you will need to PF8 at startup and put back the two original (older) drivers "LSIMPTNW.DDI" and "LSIMPTNW.HAM" into C:\NWSERVER\DRIVRERS. If you don't the server will just keep failing and rebooting. Typical problem for those familiar with VMWare.
Suggestions:
1. If you are using Proliant servers apply the CPQDPLOY after the upgrade.
2. Run a DSREPAIR to clean up after.
If anything else comes up in the next few weeks I'll update.
