I have two 5500 and two supervisory module on each 5500. Two network cables are connecting the two 5500 on one of the supervisory module.

Recently, one of the supervisory module failed on the 5500. To recover, I ran the two network cables to the secondary supervisory module and everything seems to be running within minutes. Except

The configuration of some ports did not have port description, wrong duplex and the two etherchannel connecting two switches together no longer worked. It is working as signal 100 Mb port.

Can any one tell me why and how to make sure the secondary supervisory module has the same configuration with the primary supervisory module?

Thanks

I don't understand what you are trying to do. The dual sups should synchronize to eachother the active to the standby sup, so the configs should be the same on both sups.

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it should be but it did not have the same configuration. The description of some of the ports, duplex, VLAN assignment were not correct after it came backup.

My question is "Do I have to some thing to make it the same?" The 5500 has been running before I took the job more than five years ago. So I am not too familar the configuration of the sup module.

Thanks
