500 v1- 500 v2 pwr supply compatability

I have a IPO 500 V1 that has simply shut down. Pulled all modules from all slots and still no pwr-up. I only have a IPO 500V2 in stock. Anybody know if the power supply from the V2 is compatible with the power supply of the V1?

Waste of time, the system will be of indeterminate life even if it did work, why not just licence swap and use the 500v2 or are you restricted by firmware etc?

Actually, we have a V1 ordered but it was late yesterday and we're unsure if we'll get it this morning or not.
I was just weighing other possibilities.

if a V1 dies we have a SD card ready with vm pro license (as well as a couple of spares without any licensing) and that usually is enough to keep a customer over until we get the licensing moved.

We tried this the other direction, old 500V1 PSU used in a 500V2. The V2 claimed to be powered but never finished booting, more likely our V2 motherboard died. After getting a replacement 500V2 we never tested it again.

Had this same problem earlier this week.
500v1's are easily found with a quick Google search.
Unfortunately, just moving everything over to the replacement didn't work.
We ended moving the power supply from the replacement to the original and we were back in business.

Is there a documented process for replacing a Control Unit?

Replacing a unit is just move the dongle (or swap the licenses if it is broken) and the IPO itself.
Shoot back the config (if you have it!) and you are done.

just to add my 2 cents worth, i would say nearly ALL of the IP500v1's i know of, have had the power supplies die now. i think we have a handful of clients with V1's still working.
Tisco's do repairs on the power supplies here in NZ, but you need to drive the chassis down the road, possibly still smoking? and they get the soldering iron out.
from an electrical point of view, the other units still working, are REALLY noisy! pre death, the units have all just randomly rebooted. something breaking down... fire hazard Avaya??? no admission of crap power supplies.. guess a certain supplier got reamed before the IP500v2 went to market with mucho testing!
There most definitely is something wrong with the V1 power supplies. something is weak there... just do em a deal on v2 and move on happily.

Indeed, I have mentioned on here quite a few times over the years as to the state of the 500v1 power supplies. they were very unreliable, even more so when running 240v. There were plenty of folks who would pipe up and say they have no issues and a UPS would solve it, in reality UPS or no UPS they sucked and any equipment that needs a UPS at all times in order to stop it burning out it's power supply isn't fit for purpose.

I could tell when one was goin to go pop within a month, as they would whistle/screech when powered up and the louder it was when first powering up the sooner they would die

I just had a 500v1 pop the other day too!!! third one, tried to replace the fuse on it since the customer was hounding me but that didnt work either. I ended up ordering a refurb.
