we recently have been having a difficult time upgrading our existing exchange server from 5.5 to 2000. After a couple of attempts at a migration to a new domain we tried just building another machine with 2000 installed on it. Then we proceeded to take the PST files from each user and importing them into the exchange 2000 server.

Unfortunatly now when we try to test the server from an outside source it rejects it saying there are no users. How would I go about fixing this issue?

"test the server from an out side source" I am assuming you mean sending an e-mail to one of your users from hotmail, yahoo, etc.

Check you IP address. Your ISP should have a MX record pointing mail.yourdomain.com to one of your IPs. If you have a firewall make sure you have the port mapping correct (i.e. port 25 to IP of new mail server).

Found out that there is a second SMTP setting that we were missing. Thanks for the help anyway
