I'm brand new to the BCM50. A multiple part question. I installed a BCM50 and the add on at a jobsite for about 20 users. The main unit only has 2 lines/ 12 users. It's working great.

1. I added the module but the main unit does not recognize it. According to my vender it is licensed to accept it and no key codes are required. It's wired correctly and I did go into Elemant Manager to enable it but the Disable and Enable tabs are greyed out. Any suggestions on this first question?

2. According to the documentation the 4 analog lines I need for expansion to the 2 lines I already have are located at the bottom of the unit as rj45 ports 1,2,3,4 and not on the rj21 cable like the main unit. Do I just plug a standard rj11 cables into ports and then crosswire the other end to my 110 block?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Thanks, Fred

You need an expantion port keycode to enable the aditional module.

To elaborate on what 56BelAir said:

1. Yes, you need a keycode for the expansion unit. Check the keycodes/licensing section. If you have no expansion keycodes listed, buy one. May need to find a different vendor if they keep insisting you don't need a keycode.

2. Yes, just connect RJ-11 jacks to the 4x16. Lines 61-62 will be on the main cabinet (pairs 1 and 2). Lines 65-68 will be the four trunks on the 4x16 card once you get the keycode to enable the expansion.
