4620 IP phone. No display

Some one in our company though it would be a good idea to buy a 4620 IP phone off ebay (for a lot of money). It was delivered this morning, but unfortunately does not seem to be working.
Basically when the phone is plugged in the speaker light flashes and the mute light stays on for approx 3 seconds then goes off. Then approx 8 seconds later the speaker light flashes for 8 secs, then nothing. The display stays blank.
I have tried to do resets on it, following posts in other threads, but this has had no effect. Any help appreciated. John.

What software are you running on the control unit?

ACA - IP Office Implement

I have tried it on 2. One with 3.2.55, the other 2.1.78.

Is the phone downloading its bin files from the manager directory?

It is possible that this phone has enterprise software for working on a definity or something like that?

There are numerous reports of people buying these handsets from ebay and them not working.

I personally know of three people who have this issue right now.

As these phones were not purchased via a distributor you have no recourse of action.

I know. He has been told off for buying it, it said untested on the description (thats MD's for you). £100 wasted at the moment.
