So what's the deal with these 4606 phones I got? I Rel 11 on a G3si, already running 4620's with no problems, hooking up 4606's and they can't find the DHCP server and even is I pump in an IP they update a .bin file, flash, reboot, update, then reboot, loose all the IP settings, I pump them in again and they get to the 46XX files and crap!! What up??

Far as I know the 4600's have all the files in the on 44mb download file and I eztracted it in the "TFTP" directory cause that's what I use. It even said it had the 4606 update. I'm lost at the moment......

EA6BMECH,

try looking for some specific settings either for 4606 or 4620 in 46xxsettings.txt file. i mean, you could have some specific settings for 4620 (and they work fine) but don't have the same for 4606 (and they don't work) and vice versa.

EA6BMECH,

also keep in mind that 4606, 4612 and 4624 are older generation phones and the latest firmware available for them is 1.8.2 afair. and 4620 phones are running 2.x version which is different, there were lot of changes between 1.8 and 2.0.

One thing I do know is, they won't keep booting up like the 4620's even if they don't find the file server. Hate to think I bought 10 phones that don't work. But it seems to me in the settings txt file it had a blub about bringing 4606 phones up to 1.8

This file is what I have. Seems it would bring the 4606's to the 1.8.3 and stop. These are lines I pasted off the 46xxupgrade.scr After the phone has booted up, it just says "File Not Found"

Eureka!!!! Don't know why, but I renamed the 46xxsettings.txt so it wouldn't find it, did pop up an error saying file not found, then it continued to update. Rebooted and renamed the 46xxsettings.txt so it would see it again and whala!! I have phone. I don't know....go figure!!
