I am wondering if anyone has any information on end of sale for the 406v2 control unit? Is this true? I heard you wont be able to buy these after May 5, 2008 and that they are being replaced with the IP Office 500 control unit. If this is the case does anyone know if a config from a 406v2 running 4.1 (with expansion modules)can be sent to an IP 500 without any problems? We have been reusing the same config everytime we got a new 406v2 since our retail stores are basically all the same. We just tweak it a little every time.
Thanks,

Yes the 406v2 is end of sale
You need to rebuilt your config because the ip500 is different

End-of-Sale of the IP406 V2 becomes effective on May 5, 2008.
Subject to availability, the latest date that orders for IP406 V2 can be placed is May 4, 2008

Thanks for the quick response to my question. When you say different are you talking about the different modules/cards that can be put into it, compared to the fixed ports on the 406v2? The IP 500 expansion modules are functionally the same just repackaged to match the IP 500 control unit from what I understand. I was just hoping to reuse an old config instead of starting from scratch. Thanks.

You can do that, cos we have. If you mirror the ports i.e a Phone 2 card and a Dig 8 in the main unit when you send the config it asks if this is an upgrade from a 406 to 500 and if you want to map the ports, you just click yes...worked great for us!!!

In fact I'm sure you can use a Phone 8 if you want as it asks if it is a phone 8 or Phone 2 card!!
