IPO 406v2 keeps on crashing.

Isolated it to this error in the logs:

PRN: OSMemPool::Allocate Out of Memory

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Out of memeory looks obvious to me : the system runs out of memory.
this can happen if you have:
Too many users/phones
Too many groups/groupmembers
Too many Directory entries
Too many users/sites in a SCN
Call loops
Upgraded the IP 406V2 to a higer firmware without using a intermediate firmware
Config to big to fit in memory
..... maybe many more reasons.

I advise the following:
Check the file size of a config on your harddrive, it may not exceed 256Kb
Erase the unit completely, both firmware and configuration using a DTE cable, put back the firmware and then put back the configuration.

This 406v2 is a PCS6, I had a lot of trouble upgrading the firmware.
It sounds like the "higer firmware without using a intermediate firmware" is the most likely reason for this.

Ah, now the problem is tackled.

You cannot run 4.0.5 on a IP 406V2 PCS 6, not enough memory as you have noticed in the trace.

Replace the unit with at least a IP Office 406V2 PCS8 or higher.
Avaya has a special program for replacing older units, contact your vendor/reseller.

I was a little affraid of that. I purchased, the unit online, from a vendor. Its going to be a headache. At least I know what's wrong.

Thanks

Still, you can contact a local distributor for a replacement.

Thanks for the info. Is there any way of knowing how much RAM a 406v2 pcs10 has before opening it? Eg. certain serial numbers

Read the doc I posted it tells how to check memory using monitor.
