Hi

I've just moved to a new web host on IIS. I moved 2 weeks ago, so the DNS change has finished propogating.

After the move, I wanted to check all my links were OK, so I used and entered my url
at
Every page comes up with 403 error.

But, on any browser, my website looks to work fine.

I contacted the hosting company and they say all my settings are correct and can find no problem.

Any ideas on this one? I've used the W3C link checker for ages, and this has only shown since moving host.

does your new site and/or server check for certain useragents and/or referrers and 403 them if they don't conform to a white list?

similarly the validator honours the robots.txt rules. to allow it expressly add the following to your robots.txt (at the end). if you haven't got such a file, add one.

Code:
User-Agent: W3C-checklink
Disallow:
[/cpde]

Thanks for that.

Seems W3C needs an absolute path, so I had to change the syntax slightly to

Code:
User-Agent: W3C-checklink
Disallow:/

Thanks again
