I just upgraded a system from a v1 to a v2 R9.1. The customer wants 5 remote workers. When I got to add the 5th remote worker, its acting like it can't see the preferred edition license that got swapped.

I get the following error...
"The number of users configured for Remote Worker exceeds the limit of 4 for Essential or Essential license is not present"

The essential license is present as well as the old version of preferred edition. Do I still need to purchase a Teleworker or Power user license for the 5th phone? I was under the impression that if they had preferred then all they would need is the Avaya IP Endpoint license. Could it be something with the older preferred edition license not being recognized?

No, you still need to buy the relevant user licence.... so Teleworker or Power User, all Preferred does is allow them to be added :)

Yes, the error message is very bad. You get up to 4 basic users using remote worker without needing licenses but beyond that number the rest need to be licensed users.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

On the user tab you must also change the Profile from Basic User to Teleworker. If you check "Enable Remote Worker" without changing the Profile you will get the error message, "The number of users configured for Remote Worker exceeds the limit of 4 for Essential or Essential license is not present
