I guess this is more of a warning than anything else; I just got some new wireless equipment today & installed a 3Com 3CRDAG675, and upon reboot when loading on startup 3Com's lan manager software, WinXP on my system crashes hard; hard enough screw up the OS so it cannot even attempt to boot anymore.
So I'm pissed off, but gotta get WinXP re-installed, which I do, and with the 3Com card still inside my computer, once WinXP is initially loaded I connect to the internet & start searching for updates. Then a nice little window pops up (I forget what message it said), but in effect some component of the OS failed & the system will shut itself down in one minute. Alright, shut down the machine, and remove the 3Com card. Problem doesn't resurface as you see I'm typing here without any faults.
Is this maybe a common fault with 3Com cards, or did I just get one bad lemon? Anyone else have experience with 3Com wireless cards?
