What's the general feeling so far about 3com's VoIP products and systems?

I know the product is rather new, but they do make a solution. When we did our RFI, we invited 3COM to particiapte. Our goal was a gateway solution connecting to 80 Nortel Option 11's, with the intent of replacing the PBX's in the future. There were several other vendors also invited, and 3COM was the only vendor to come in, meet with us, hear what we wanted to do, and say no thanks.
According to the local 3COM rep, they could not do a Q.SIG connection to the Nortel PBX at all. Everyone else who makes PBX's, that I know of, can do this. Possible red flag, who knows.
I would seriously look at other options, not just 3COM.

They have been selling VOIP phones for years.
In fact, 3com had the first ads I ever saw for VOIP phones. They were memorable as they had pictures of two guy's under a desk with their butts sticking out and the caption read "why install two networks when you need only one".
Seesm to me it was more like a Key-class system than a real PBX. e.g. a Small Office Home Office thing.

3Com goes well with small office that need to intercontect. They are more of a Key system then a PBX. If you look on the web for reviews you will see "not feature rich". If you look real hard it is an Ether switch (which is not a bad thing) it tries layer 2 first for anything then you can enble it for layer 3. Easy to install, use, and manage for operators and low in cost.
After getting training on the system, I see it having a "hard coded core" that will not change. They bought the NBX and have worked around the limits of the core program.
They have now the VCX which is the carrier system or enterprise system and it has not relation to the NBX.
