When connecting a cisco 3512XL-EN via fibre to the uplink port of a 3com 3900 superstack II switch, the 3com thinks it's got a connection, but the cisco refuses to show it has a connection.

Anything obvious?

Figured it out. The 3com switch had auto-negotiation turned off. Cisco had it on.

Easy, once you know they have different standards for default configurations...
