3745 fan assemly replacement

Silly question I know, but I cannot find the answer (so far). Cisco say that swapping the fan/bezel assembly on a DC-powered 3745 requires the router to be powered-off firts. Does anyone know whether the fan/bezel can be hot-swapped on an AC unit?
