Hello all-

I have this router and need to upgrade it's memory. ay clues where to find detailed pages on Cisco site .. or can someone provide url link to this?

Would I need to issue config commands for the NVRAM to accept this mem upgrade?

the 3640 has four memory banks and can take upto 128MB DRAM and 2 Flash simm banks holding a max of 32MB flash.

If you are upgrading the DRAM then you dont need to do anything just remeber that the banks only hold certain combinations of memory.
Its worth knowning the 3600 series also have a flash slot for flash cards and may be worth considering as an alternative to flash upgrade.

I believe the 3640 takes normal fast page double sided 72pin memory.. the max each slot can do is 32mb..

Pick some up off ebay for cheap.
