3640 Cisco Router - VPN Not Fast Enough 1

hi all..

i successfully setup my 3640 cisco router with Cisco's EasyVPN setup guide located at:

i can connect and authenticate quite well, but the connection is sooooooo slow, even on my own 100Mbps LAN.. just getting mail off my POP server can take several minutes, which would take seconds without the VPN connection..

i have tried all possible MTU values, right from as low as 900 to as high as 1500, with everything else in between, but the speed doesn't improve..

is it possible the router can't handle the VPN connection...?.. it's a 3640 with 128MB DRAM..

Check the CPU utilisation, maybe all the encryption is overloading the router.
Command is SH proc, first couple of lines show how much work its doing.
