3550 switch

Can you add a "route outside" command to the 3550 switch, if so what is the command?

You can, it will only be meaningful if the 3550 is acting as a router? If it is not, it will work for the default route.

Here is a default route.
ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.10.8.8
