I am a Newbe. I am attempting to configure a new 3500 series switch. I have all of it configured. However, when I do a "show run" command the interfaces all show "no ip address". Is there any way of getting rid of this. See the example below.

interface FastEthernet0/45
no ip address
spanning-tree portfast
!
interface FastEthernet0/46
no ip address
spanning-tree portfast

I have 12 other 3500 series swithes and none of them have this when looking at the "show run".

Try typing the "switchport" command at each interface.

Don't type it on each interface just use the interface range command to apply it to all interfaces at once . This also really depends on how you are using the switch ,are you routing with it or just switching .

There is a global command to enable portfast by default on all ports so this is why you mabe don't have it in the interface config for the other switches:

spanning-tree bpdu-portfast default

I think that is the command. With this in global config all ports are portfast enabled so you may want to disable it on your uplinks.
