I have a 3550 Switch and I want to set it up where I have one port connected to the Internet and all the ports need to communicate with that port but don't want it to communicate with any other ports. I think the port security function will accomplish this but I am not sure how. I have been to the cisco web site and they have a lab on this but it doesn't really explain how it works. The one step in there that confuses me is that it sets the Maximum address count to 2.

So I am hoping someone can help clear this up for me. Thanks

As I understand it, Port Security limits the number and witch nodes can be connected to a switch interface. I think what you are looking for is a router with access lists that permit traffic to only go through the desired interfaces.

You might also be able to do it with VLAN, each interface assigned a different VLAN and the internet interface configured to be a trunk.
