3550 External fiber media converter problem with opening outlook

We have a new 3550 switch, When connection an external fiber media converter, The switches link up, But when trying to open outlook or shared network drives. It lockes up the PC. But if we connect a cat6 cable between switches everything works? (We have tried it on different fiber connections and different media converters)

Soulds like MTU issue with the media convertors if anything..
