3300 with patton modems

HI all , I have 3300 CX with Combo E1/t1 Module , and I have E1 connection using patton modems 703 , the E1 state on module is keep solid red ,so do you think I need 704 modems?? and I am using strecth cable , did I need other sort of cable , please help
