32-Bit xBase

Hi All,

Is this what I think it is? There is a Foxpro/dBase/Clipper alternative, I guess. I went to

http://www.plugsys.com

and found MAX 2.0, which is an xBase language that is 32-bit and runs under windows.

If anyone knows if it's any good, please let me know.

But why would you want a character based app to run under Windows? Why not just stay with FPD 2.x?

I'm trying to find the best path to take. For example, I
have one app in FPD 2.6, and I don't want to go graphical with it. I have always thought that character based apps are
more crisp and faster than a graphical based app.
Many users complain about having to take their hands off
of the keyboard to go grab a mouse, hit a cancel or save button, when its much easier to move your fingers to a specific key to handle the same task.
I guess I'm just old fashioned. Most of the people I develop software for aren't looking for software thats dressed up, but software thats fast, reliable and efficient.
These days, a programmer has to be an artist, or at least it
seems that way.
To add to all that, Microsoft might decide, well thats it, lets close the door on any DOS support. Will FPD 2.6 continue to run as faster cpu's are introduced? These are the questions that I am faced with. Hopefully it's not the
end.
