Hi,
I have been using the Network Assistant software to monitor my switches and one my switch which is a 2950 with 48 port began to show the following error message:

3-Error, switch redundant power supply failed

This message started to appear after I had power cut last week. Although I have acknowledge the error message but it doesn't go away I have rebooted the switch, but the error still there, although the switch appears to be working fine, the red error message is bothering me!

Can any one please tell me if I need to do any thing to get rid the message? Are these switches have internal redundant power supply, if yes what do I do next?

Are you using one of these external redundant power supplies, like the RPS 675, for connection into your switch? I've seen where Cisco switches can send traps in the event of an internal power supply failure where the Cisco RPS 675 is backing up the failed switch.

No I don't have any external redundant power supply at all.
The Switch is connected to the mains directly.

Any ideas please?

I have managed to get rid of the error message by upgrading the IOS on the switch to the latest release and it appeard to get rid of the error message.
