2nd dns server problem

Hi, I have a win2000 dns server that works with no problems, however I have just added two 2003 domain controllers with dns, thinking that they would replicate wih the original dns controller. That does not seem to be happening though. I have obviously overlooked something but what? do I have to manually add the zones and records?
I want to remove the 2000 server at a later date
