I just did a fresh install of Win2K Pro on an ACPI uncompliant PC (I don't mind losing my COM ports), and everything was fine until I downloaded a video driver update from MS Windows Update for my PCI NVidia Riva TNT Model 64. Now every time it gets to the splash screen, the progress bar goes slowly to the end and freezes.
I can get into Windows from VGA mode. I have uninstalled the update from Safe Mode, reinstalled the driver a few times, and run the repair modes to no avail. Any thoughts would be appreciated?
Thanks,
-Troy
