I have a 2k server and win98 second edition installed on the other pc's on my LAN. I have setup my network and dial up connections. All computers are viewable on the network. I followed the directions in the 2k Server book and some of the tips found within the 2k server forums and still cannot get my win98 pc's connected to the internet. I tried pinging my other client's and was successful. Tried pinging other IP addresses outside my LAN and was successful. Even ran tracert followed by an IP address and everything works fine no matter what pc I use. I do not know why I can not open a website via my IE browser. Only system I can search websites from is the 2k Server. I feel that I am missing one step from being able to successfully log on and totally frustrated. Please HELP.

When you try to surf the internet, wat kind of error u r recieving in IE?

Unless this is already fixed, here is my suggestion:

1.if you have ACTIVE DIRECTORY installed, ICS will not operate ... locate your nearest Microsoft KB for details.
2.check your IE settings on your workstations, and make sure that the are set to 'automatically detect settings', and that's it.
3.verify that they can ping by name. If so, DNS is working.
4.make sure they don't have any SBS 4.0/4.5 PROXY client software installed.
5.if you're using DHCP, make sure they are getting the right info (dns, wins, gateway, etc)... probably so.

Anyways, there's my two, no, 5 cents.
