2K & Printer NAL objects - Tuff question, I think 1

I have tried making various Snapshots of a Canon 4500 printer we have, but when the NAL object is run on a 2k workstation it fails to work until you go into the properties of the printer on the local machine, just opening and closing the properties box is enough to make it work.

Any ideas?

Are you using NDPS?

yes we do use NDPS
but the printer isn't
- we have many issues using NDPS with this printer -

to further explain
we use a 'Canon GP605' Printer
Installed as a network printer/photocopyer over TCP/IP
using PCL drivers from Canon home page.
Microsoft networking is not installed
Novell is with both TCP and IPX
