Can't find trunk encapsulation option on my new 2960G (12.2) when configuring port-channel?

Did cisco remove this option? Is dot1q now default trunk encapsulation?

Thank you,

Morten

The 2960 only supports 802.1q as a trunk encapsulation - i.e. ISL isn't available. As such you cannot change the encapsulation type. This is the same for the 2950. The 3550, 3560 & 3750 support ISL or 802.1q so the encapsulation type must be configured on these switches if you want to hard-code the interface as a trunk.

Someone on this forum had a link to a Cisco page that basically broke down every switch and what each one supported. I haven't been able to locate it yet.
