I have 2 Cisco 2950T-24 switches, currently setup in a management cluster.
I need to make them act essentially as "one switch", so that VLAN1 on switch 'A' is the same VLAN as VLAN1 on switch 'B'.
I am sure it can be done, but i can't seem to find a solution.

Does anyone know how this can be done?

Thanks

Hey Jordan,

As long as you have left everything at the defaults the switches will both have everything set to vlan 1. if they are in a cluster then you can manage them both from one ip address. thats it. no trunking is necessary unless you intend to run multiple vlans.

how do you have the two switches connected to each other?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, i worked out in the end that it was only routing vlan1 taffic between the two switches (I needed it to route vlan2), so after some research into trunking, i just set the connecting ports to "trunk desirable" and all is working now, and it will route all vlans (which is what i need).

Thanks

Jordan
