2950 port problems.

I have three cisco 2950 switches and on each switch one of the ports shut off. When I restart the switch the ports starting working again. What would cause them to shut off and how can I stop them form doing that?

Are these connected to a PC or another switch. Might possibly have port security enabled and is shutting it down on a violation.

By shutting off what do you mean , do they go into err-disable ? What does a show interface look like when it shuts off.
