Does anyone have a login to cisco that can check a bug track.

I have some 2924's that I am trying to configure the ports on.

Normally my switch config works as thus.

swichport access vlan 40
switchport voicevlan 60

But i can only get it to work with the ports as trunks, like..

switchport trunk encaps dot1q
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 40

the software release is 12.0(5)WC5 and I think the relevnt bug is..

CSCdx86493

But it won't let me login to check which release first corrected it.

Release Notes

A Cat3500XL on gig ports when configured as Access Ports,
upon reception of a dot1q-tagged VLAN frame, will not drop
this frame and will still forward this frame on unchanged.

In the event that the dest-mac is unknown or an unknown mcast
mac, the switch will flood this frame out of all ports that
are on the same VLAN as the receiving port.

Cheers, not sure if this is my problem now.

2924 and 3500xls don't do the feature known as 'aux vlan' which is what you're doing... i bet your other switches are 3550's or higher..

Yes the others are.

Is it OK to use the config that I am then. A cisco engineer once told me that I should try and minimise the number of trunk ports.
