have a remote site running 2811 with vic2-2fxs ports off a catalyst 35xx switch. all phone sets are down saying configuring IP. I know nothing on how to handle this as I am remote help desk, can anyone advise what I can have the user do or remote do? my tech is on vacation ugh

You might want to ask this in the Cisco CallManager forum if you don't get a quick response here.

problem solved.

the original data person who configured the swithc didnt mem save the configuration and during a power outage the system booted up with a different mem and dhcp couldnt find the switch ip address and just pulled some random ip that was thrown at it.

then we couldnt figure out why the 7940 phones werent pulling an ip from dhcp gw. after serveral hours it turned out that the switch ip address had to be written to the vtp database (vlan trunking protocol)
after it was written and restarted, the phones could been seen in the arp table and they came up. these links above are well worth the reading and get your skills up
