Something interesting.....
Have a 2600 series router with 64/16 max memory and just tried to load the latest 12.3 image for it. Said it requires 64/16 memory so should be no problem. Erased flash and proceeded to load and received an error stating that I did not have enough memory. Figured out a workaround if anyone else has the same problem.

router#erase /no-squeeze-reserve-space flash:
Then when using tftp to send the ios and asked to erase config[confirm] enter n and skip this step and IOS loads no problem....wierd...but it works.

I'm upgrading my 262x's to 32mb flash, the latest images are getting bigger and bigger.

2611 max at 16.....

yep, anything below 2620 is out of luck when those images are gonna spill over 16mb
