Hello to All,
I have a 2524 that at present is running 11.0 IOS. I'd like to run 12.0 or better on it but I need more flash space to run the later version. I try to do an erase but the system keeps telling me the flash is write protected. I've read in a doc somewhere that some routers can be set to write protect the flash. Can any one tell me if I need to unprotect at the harware level?
TIA,
Ted Schafer

boot the system using a tftp server (boot system tftp command), then do a show flash. The config should show that the flash is in read/write mode. Now you can erase the flash content by the erase flash or squeeze command. Now try/perform copy tftp flash.

Tell me if this helps. God Bless!
