Hi, I am rolling out a number of Cisco 2511's to replace some old DEC terminal servers. I notice that the terminal emulation protocol used between the UNIX servers and the DEC terminal servers is LAT.
According to all the documentation I can find, LAT should be supported on my IOS (12.0(17a)) and can be enabled via "transport input lat" on the lines in question. However if I do a "transport input ?" on the lines, LAT is not one of the protocols listed. I'd rather just use Telnet but it is a difficult option because the hosts connecting to the serial devices are managed externally and are considered to be quite legacy.
Does my IOS just not support this feature? I suspect so but can't find evidence of it on cisco's site. There's also seems to be not much info on DEC LAT around on the net.
Can anyone offer some guidance?
