Just cut over a large switch with 2420 sets. Its MV 1.2. I found in order to get the Voicemail button (hard button to work, I had to put the Audix Hunt Access in the Security Code field on the station Form. Apparently there will a new field (voice Mail number) in Call Manager 1.3 to address this.

Back to the drawing board. It seemed to work for 2 sets but not for any others.

Actually, that brings up the question. Does anyone out there know how to make the message button work on 2420's on these releases?

I've done it successfully every time by sending a LWC to the phone and setting LWC to AUDIX.

Thanks, I will give that a try. If it works, your a life saver.

The installer will be going back there in a day or 2. i'm assuming you mean I add a LWC act button to a test set & snd a manual to each of the 2420's.

That is correct. LWC Reception: AUDIX, then program a LWC-Store button on another phone and use it to send a message.

Thats all there is to it.

Hi Kris,

I'm hoping to get the installer to test this today. We also have to get new firmware loaded into the sets as we cannot curently change the key displays from such thing as AD system codes. We are looking into upgrading the software to 1.3. At least in that you can define names in the System list on a system wide basis. This installation is a biggie, the largest Hotel in Western Canada, almost 2500 stations. Hotel managers are the worst customers, they demand a psychic switch.

I was under the impression that if the word "Audix" appears in the Hunt Group the Message button will work.

Thank you,

You can change the pre-programmed labels right now (System wide). 1.3 will allow you to change the labels from the PBX, so I'm told.

Kris

You just need a coverpath with an Audix Hunt group, and the message button will work. Simple as that.

Yes, but for those who have a mailbox and aren't in a coverage path (only get messages when receptionist sends them to that mailbox directly), this works well.

Kris

CM 1.3 will do labels, but 1.1 or 1.2 won't. We just added ec500 capability, so we are waiting for the 1.3 upgrade so we only have to reboot the switch once.

I've changed 2420 labels by simply upgrading the firmware to r3. The PBX can change the labels by creating a new language set and applying it to that phone under:

CHANGE DISPLAY-MESSAGES HELP

This will show you all the things you can change (basically everything in the system).

Kris

We actually upgraded the firmware on the sets this morning.

Has anyone had issues with the 2420's call logging capabilities? All logging works great except when a call comes from and external caller and is calling a non-DID extension, so the call is transferred through and Auto Attendant or an operator, in which case the 2420 logs the CLID as the Voicemail or Operator's extension instead of the CLID. If the External Caller calls via a DID the right CLID is logged in the set, and on the set even when it's not a DID set the user sees the CLID of the caller.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thank you,
VOIPEng

Does someone have any more information on the 1.3 release with regard to this button? I have a customer with UM that would like to use this button, but it currently only works with Audix.

1.3 now has a field for the VOICEMAIL button. You can put a hunt group number in that field and it will call that extension when you press MSG button.
