will xp load and run on this computer?

This should really be a 2 part question:
1) Will it run?
2) Should you do it?

Yes it will run - barely. Check out microsoft's sys req specs:


From what I've heard, even Microsoft's recommended hardware specs are barely good enough to run XP. To get any kind of good experience from it, you really need to have at least a 500MHz or faster proc with 256MB RAM. The sweet spot is 512MB RAM on 1GHz or faster pc. On your pc, you would be best off with Win95 (even Win98 is pushing it).
