I have weird situation where several desktops in my environment have suddenyl started "losing" their profiles. This just started happening about a month or so ago and has now effected dozens of machines. Now, it seems to happen in Windows 2000 desktops more, but it has happened to XP machines as well.
History:
I migrated from NT4 to 2003 in the past year or so. I used the Quest DMW tool. In the past couple months I have removed sidhistory from AD and have been doing some cleanup of desktop resources from the old NT SID's. My old NT domain is getting ready to go away. The thing is thought that some of the users/machines that have gotten this problme were NEVER migrated. It has happened to all sorts of situations and there is no pattern. The user suddenly logs in one day and gets a default desktop and no settings.
Anyone seen anything like this? I tried the hive cleanup tool from MS on some 2000 machines, but I dont think that works.
