OK, I have 2000 terminal server that is completely patched through SP4. I am unable to get a remote printer to map.
When checking the add printer dialogue the usual TS001, TS002, etc ports are not there. When checking the logs there is no evidence of an attempt to map the printers.
I just built a new 2000 term server for another customer and all works fine right out of the box, no special permissions as far as I can tell.
Any and all suggestions appreciated.

I've had a case where an LPT printer worked fine, but a USB printer didn't. The USB port is identified as DOT4_01 and this prevented TS from identifying the printer.
Here's a workaround that worked for me:
- go to the printer properties page and change the port of the printer to a Virtual USB port
- after the port has been changed, connect to the TS Server
- once connected, change the port back to DOT4
It's not elegant, but it works.
