Hi,

I have Office 2000 and want to apply service pack 2 for security reasons.

But the SR2 says I don't have SR1 even though the About dialog boxes show "SR-1" there.

What am I missing here? or is there something I need to download and apply to SR-1 before applying SR-2??

Please assist.

Regards,
Jay/UK

If you go to office.microsoft.com and click on Product update, and it tells you that you need to download and install Office 2000 SR-1 then I suggest doing so. Also by SR-2, do you mean SP-2? Another good place to look for Office updates is all the downloadable updates are there, and its usually faster then the regular Product update link. I hope I helped you out some.

Hi,

PC is DEFINITELY showing that it's on SR-1 and this is clearly printed on the original installation CD.

So I can't understand why service pack 2 won't load, saying that SR-1 is not present.

Do I need to download and install service pack 1a first before I can do service pack 2? If so, this would be a contradiction with what Microsoft say on their web site that you only need SR-1 to install service pack 2 !

If I need to download 1a, I'll arrange to go down to local internet cafe as I've seen it's a HUGE download and will put onto CD-R.

I await your advice ASAP.

Regards,
Jay/UK
