We have a 2000 Server which is configured for our internal dns server and has a zone of companyname.com. We have a handful of A records and our MX record for mail.companyname.com. We have know put in a corporate mailing list solution which runs at lists.companyname.com. Where do we need to put the A and MX records for this? Do we need to add a new zone or a new domain under the existing zone? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is 'lists' a host on your network? If so, then you only need an A record in the companyname.com zone for 'lists'.

I am being told by the admin of the mailing list software, that we require an MX record. How should I go about this?

And the awnser is????????????

the A record was enough, the other issue was a type-o on their part.
