I have windows 2000 server installed as my dc.
This machine also hosts two oracle databases (part of our Oracle Collaboration Suite setup).
In the last month I have noticed the machine reboots occasionally without warning.
But today it got much worse!
Every time it booted up I got the blue screen of death and........'kmode_Exception_not_handled'
Sometimes this appears and even on startup it sometimes just locks up when starting. So I am forced to hit reset.
This PC has raid set up (mirrored) which I administer in disk management.
I managed to stabilise the PC and shut the databases down.
I then checked in disk managment and the raid disk status was: 'failed redundancy system'. So I followed advice on Microsoft Technet and reactivated the disk. Both drives were then shown to be healthy.
But now I reboot the machine and 9 times out of 10 it locks up before starting up.
I'm considering breaking the mirror and ditching raid to simplify the setup. Could this sort the problem out or is it something more serious?
Any suggestions would be most apprecited.
Cheers
Charlie
