2000 client slow transfer from NT 4 server

I recently installed 2000 on my box. We still run in an NT domain and when I transfer files from an NT 4 file server it is REALLY slow. When I transfer files to the same server, speeds are fine. I have enabled TCPIP over netbios and everything else is pretty basic.... Any ideas on what I should check? Local kerberos policies are not enabled.

NO ONE has ever ran into this problem? I would think it would be a common configuration error or something. Can anyone at least provide some insight as to where I might look? Thanks for any help!
