Here's some fun reading. Be warned the following could be drier than your throat after a 12 hour operation. Let me know if you want more.

1) Why do I only see one line (extension) on Windows 2008 when running a TAPI application with the IP Office TAPI 3 driver installed and configured in third party mode?

The reason only one line is visible in the application is because the default installation of Windows 2008 does not assign Local System as the Telephony user. To correct this run mmc services.msc from the Windows command prompt and select Properties on the Telephony Service. Select the LogOn tab and check the radio button next to Local System account. Restart the telephony service and run the application again. All lines configured on IP Office should now be visible to the application.

2) What are the list of all ports and their application and protocol for SCN?
Here is a list of all ports and their application and protocol.

Details of the range of ports used by diffent releases of IP Office applications are found at:
https://support.avaya.com/helpcenter/getGenericDetails?detailId=C201082074362003

This table below gives a summary of the ports used for IP Office Release 9.0.
50795
UDP/ Voicenet
Yes
Open
SCN Trunks
Small Community Networks peer to peer trunk signalling

3) Does the IP Office federate presence information to another IM Service and how do you set it up?

We can federate to Google Talk.
We use port number 5269 - This port is used for XMPP server to server federation. This port federates with the External XMPP servers or XMPP enabled servers such as Google Talk. If the customer is not intending to federate with external XMPP servers then this port does not need to be opened on the firewall.
Configuring IM/Presence Federation with Google Talk
As an administration, you can configure one-X Portal for IP Office to federate with Google Talk and establish chat communication between Google Talk and one-X Portal for IP Office contact. To ensure that one-X Portal for IP Office is federated with Google Talk, set the following configurations:
1. To enable one-X Portal for IP Office federation with Google Talk server, set the Port number to 5269.
2. Set the fully qualified domain name of the Google Talk server. Ensure that the Google Talk server is accessible to one-X Portal for IP Office for communication.

4) Where can I locate the MIBs for Avaya IP Office?

The Avaya IP Office MIBs are provided with the Admin CD for each release of Avaya IP Office. The Admin CD can be downloaded from www.avaya.com/support.

5) Can we deploy the IP Office Server Edition or IP Office Select or the IP Office Application Server on a Microsoft Hyper-V virtual Server?

No, MS Hyper-V is not supported as a virtual server for the Server Edition, IP Office Select or the Application Server. We only support virtualization on VMware. If you want to virtualize it must be on a VMware platform for the Server Edition and IP Office Select or the Application Server. Please review the information on the IP Office Knowledgebase:

http://marketingtools.avaya.com/knowledgebase/businesspartner/ipoffice/mergedProjects/virtual/virtual_server_support.htm

IP Office 9.1 supports VMware vSphere ESXi 5.x (currently 5.0 to 5.5).

6) Do we have any applications that are supported on Citrix?

The one-X Portal thin client as well as the one-X Portal's Outlook plugin will be supported in Terminal Services environments such as Citrix (XenDesktop, XenApp) and Microsoft Terminal Services.

This does not include the one-X Portal Call Assistant or the Salesforce.com Plug-in. Just the web based thin client and the Outlook Plug-in only.

No other applications are listed as supported on Citrix.

7) Does the IP Office resilience work with SIP phones like the E129 or only H.323 phones like the 1600 or 9600?

No, resilience is only supported on the H.323 phones today on the IP Office, not on any SIP based phones.

8) How many people can I have in a conference on an IP Office IP500v2 and how many conferences can I have?

The IP500v2 has 2 64 party conference bridges.
IP Office Conferencing Capacity
IP Office provides a flexible conferencing solution with 128 conferencing channels on the IP500 and IP500 V2, allowing multiple conferences of any size from 3 to 64 parties. This means that several conferences of different sizes can all run at the same time if the total calls do not exceed the systems conference resources. So the system will support 42 x 3-party conferences, 2 x 64-party conferences or any combination in between. IP Office does not impose limits on the mix of internal and external calls in conference, but if all internal participants disconnect from the conference bridge, the external participants can be disconnected automatically by the system for added security (configurable system setting).

Notes:
1. Analog Trunk Restriction
In conferences that include external analog line calls, a maximum of two analog line calls are allowed per conference.
2. External Participants
Each external caller requires a digital trunk/VoIP channel (for example 1 T1 allows 23/24 external parties, 1 E1 allows 30 parties and a fully licensed VCM-64 allows 64 parties).
3. Use of Conference Resources by Other Features
System features such as call intrusion, call recording and silent monitoring all use conference resources, as does automatic recording if enabled. When any of these features are active the number of slots available for conference parties is reduced. For example, a conference call between 3 parties and being recorded will use 4 conference slots.
4. The IP500 Supports 128 Conference Members
The total capacity of the IP500 V2 is 128 party conference resources. However the restriction of a maximum of 64 parties in any individual conference still applies.
5. Meet-Me Conferencing on IP500 requires Preferred Edition
IP Office IP500 V2 supports basic or ad-hoc conferencing, but if Meet-Me capabilities are required the IP Office Preferred Edition license should be purchased for direct dial into a conference bridge with PIN code security.
In an SCN network, only one centralized Preferred Edition license is required to host Meet-Me conferences at any of the sites. Conference IDs are also shared across the SCN sites.

Independent Products or Applications at the Same Site

All Avaya Supported Products at a single location that are not integrated with each other can be covered by different levels of Avaya IP Office Support Services coverage (e.g., Communications Manager with Onsite Support and Modular Messaging with Parts) with the exception of common server products. With the exception of CM and MM, common server products must be covered by the same level of Parts or Onsite coverage (e.g., Session Manager and Meeting Exchange with Onsite Support 8x5).
