Hi Have recently finished building P4 using a Asus P5P800 board with a 3.00Ghz processor board has a 24 pin socket manual says its ok to use 20 pin connecter providing psu can deliver 8A on the +12V and 1A on the +5V standby lead which it dos .Is there any advantages having a psu with a24 pin conector my psu is a bit of a cheapie (I know not a good idea) psu is a 400w psu thanks in advance Brian

you can plug your 20 pin into your 24 pin , i did it unto ma a8n sli , but, due to the lack of information about which wire to which connector, i've bought a converter , 20--> 24 it's not expensive at all et works perfectly

as far as i read , i seems that the 4 pin, provide a 12v power line , in the case of my motherboard, it was said , that it was for the sli

Cheers FlammerDylis Didnt know you could buy a converter in my case my connecter only fitted in socket 1 way but it still left 4pins not connected to zip these are +5 volts +12 +3volts and 1 groud I have a 4 pin atx 12volt and it is connected my system has been running for 1 week with out any problems the 4 pins are just bugging me you know what its like thanks again dude Brian
